Last week a bunch of folk I know got Covid, a guy I paint with who didn't want the vaccine, but also has Crohn's disease is four days in and says he feels like shit and his legs feel really sore.
A bunch of kids at my son's school and their parents got it. So far my son keeps testing ok for it which is good so far, but I suppose it's only a matter of time til he gets it.
Another artist I know, had a good friend die from covid, she was around my age, early 40's with a young son aged 10. that's the first person my age I've heard of that has died from it.

    • Stay safe. May you be spared from the imbeciles who are ruining it for everyone else.monospaced
    • I think it's kind of inevitable with things opening up again. The woman who died was double vaxxed too.PhanLo
    • dude, not everyone dies because of covid. i had 4 friends died last year - all in their 40s - none because of the virus.pr2
    • btw, great art.pr2
    • I just meant the inevitability of getting covid, not the deaths. One of my oldest mates dad died of cancer today, he'd already had covid and I think he thoughtPhanLo
    • it was long covid, but the cancer had spread to 3 of his organs and he died within a week of being hospitalised.PhanLo

    • pr2 your anecdote is meaningless. This person died of covid not something else.monospaced
    • mono, so now we discover you don't understand even dictionary definitions of "anecdotes"? what's next, that you sleep with cats?pr2
    • of course I know the definition, which is why I'm saying your anecdote is meaningless to this discussionmonospaced
