This is a good example of how a conspiracy theories (or at least an unexplained story) can sometimes have a totally random, stupid explanation.

There was this story last summer about how thousands of people were receiving mysterious packages of seeds from China.

At the time some people speculated that the CCP was launching a bioterrorism campaign to attack the rest of the world by introducing invasive species of plants.

A year later one reporter did an investigation, and turns out the answer is...most of the people who received the seeds literally just forgot they ordered them.

They placed orders on Amazon, their orders got delayed because of COVID, they didn't realize it was shipping from China, and when the seeds finally showed up they panicked and reported it to the government. And this happened thousands of times.
