Repus, I'm glad you're so pationate about your province but don't you think what Alexa McDunnah (sp) went a little far with her comment as well?
The Simpsons have been making fun of the French and Canadians more and more each year. As much as you want your own "race" you still admit to being Canadian, right? So how is this not any more offending to you? Did the first sketch of the week about the mounty with a back bacon hockey stick and a beer igloo offend you as a Canadian too? I doubt it.
Look, I laughed hard at that sketch. I've been all over Quebec and I remember on several occasions I couldn't even get food or gas because I was english. Did I cry about that? No, as I find that much worse than a joke but that's life. I saw the humour in the jokes as it's a stereotype. Stereotypes CANT go away as that's what people always base their experience on. Just like I was stereotyped in Quebec as an english outsider who's trying to get gas.
Sorry, I just don't see the difference because now it comes your way.
I'm not attacking you as your points are valid, I just find this stuff getting out of hand much like sex and violence is destroying society. To be fair these things MAKE our society.
