    Man, this brings back memories.

    I watched a bit of the previous video - using median was a last resort for me, it killed too much detail but was needed sometimes.

    Steps I took were similar. I doubled the size but did it in 10% increments (the reduced the damage done by interpolation)

    Then I used a combo of Noise: despeckle / dust and scratches, follow up with judicious use Gaussian blur

    Then reduced image back to normal size before using unsharpmask to get some of the edges back

    - Sometimes I’d also rotate a bit the image before starting the process
    - sometimes I’d do the despeckle / dust scratches to each channel

    Each image was different

    • I couldn’t go a day without use my scanner. Signs you’re getting oldGnash
    • Working doing flyers for clients that would give you images that looked like they were printed on teabags I got good at removing that pattern too :-)PhanLo
