Wacom latest driver, known issues:

All models• Straight line segments are present at the start of a stroke in some applications.
What you can do about it while we fix it: We are working with the application developers to solve the problem. If you experience this problem, check for application updates.
• You cannot use your Wacom device on your computer's login screen.
macOS security restrictions prevent your Wacom device and pen from being used on the computer's login screen. To navigate, you can use your trackpad or mouse. Or, select your user name using the keyboard's right/left arrow keys and then press Enter.

I'm running a old wacom driver that since updating the osx a while back, still 'works' - all the setting are as I last set them, but the wacom pref app doesn't work in the osx system prefs thing, so I can't tweak settings.
Not sure I should risk updating...
