    The literal only value I can see in NFTs is restricting the dissemination of a digital asset *within a contained and restricted environment* - eg. Something like Second Life, in which case any blockchainnedness is rendered completely irrelevant, as an NFT would need to be signed against a central authority.

    Owning a hash is one thing, proving that hash and making it work usefully, is another.

    • They have a long way to go. Smart contracts seem interesting. Maybe when large screens are superb and cheap, digital artwork will have more clear value.formed
    • M Cuban will be issuing Maverick tickets as NFTs, which seems far more practical than all this hyped, mostly horrific, "art".formed
    • I can *sorta* imagine a highly distributed future based on networked quantum immediacy, but that shit's post-cyber-punk and way beyond relevance now.Nairn
