    • That is not the NFT.palimpsest
    • It is now.utopian
    • will re-sell for $759KGuyFawkes
    • ^^ you're overlooking one wee detail: timestamps. the blockchain has... timestamps. ffs u lot.cherub
    • 'ownership' in the way u are thinking, has nothing to do with the world of NFTs.cherub
    • ow charlie bit me!sarahfailin
    • Also getting ur info from headline busting tabloid trash articles and joke blogs is a recipe for fail. they're gonna sell what gets clicks. what gets clicks?cherub
    • 'charlie bit my finger.' what doesn't make the headlines? talented designer sells NFTs to pay off the mortgage on his/her flat.cherub
    • https://en.wikipedia…cherub
    • This is currently on the superrare.co front page(under recent). Put this side by side with the charlie bit finger video & tell me if you see a difference.cherub
    • https://superrare.co…cherub
    • Yes, I see a difference.palimpsest
    • current bid: .09 ETH
      = £268
      cherub
    • wait, £168 not £268cherub
    • The real question is how many hours of work did it take for her to make that, and is that worth £168 to her.cherub
    • Nah, the question is if that's worth £168 to whoever will buy it. It don't matter how much time she spent on it. There are better ways to make money by the hourpalimpsest
    • I know what you mean, and overall the market feels inflated now and has been for a while so it's logical there would be a crash. But the resting price for allcherub
    • If you want to get serious about it she is not selling the stupid animation, she is selling an NFT and she is not going to get £ she is going to get Ξ.palimpsest
    • these pieces is still not zero, and if u think about it, that's weird. Another thing is the unlockable content. Someone said 'sell prints' -hey are selling bothcherub
    • "It’s also possible to add unlockable content that only the item owner can view. Examples of unlockable content include higher resolution files, contact info.."cherub

    • @cherub
Let me break it down for you. So you better understand my first comment. I'm not trying to convince you of anything.
      palimpsest
    • So you can for example, mint a digital music album that the buyer unlocks after purchasing the NFT. Then u mail them their physical CD.cherub
    • For me an NFT is a token, it does not containe the artwork (jpg, gif, video). You can add shit to the sale (not the NFT, the sale) like perfume samples...palimpsest
    • ... but an NFT will remain an NFT.
It's like putting a picture of a house on a website but what you get is a little piece of paper with the coordinates.
      palimpsest
    • You are not buying the house. They might try to lure you with a brand new mailbox but you are not buying the house.palimpsest
    • What's worse is the coordinates to the house are stored on a website that might be gone the next day.palimpsest
    • I'll say this for the third time on QBN:
An NFT is a receipt that proves you bought a receipt.
      palimpsest
    • At best you're getting an autograph from "the artist", and I can understand the value in that. But NFT has nothing to do with art and all to do with speculationpalimpsest
    • So neither this gif/animation of the video nor the one on the website are the NFT.palimpsest
    • To a geezer like me it's like the misuse of literally. Ya'll have collectively decided it means the opposite of what it originally meant.palimpsest
    • And as a collective you have given it that new meaning. But I will never accept that new meaning...palimpsest
    • ... specially when there are other words that can serve the purpose of your intended meaning.palimpsest
    • And you can use that for your idea of minting an album. There are already ways to purchase an album digitally.
An NFT will remain an NFT to me.
      palimpsest
    • fair enuffcherub
    • So a couple can upload a silly video and create an NTF of it, and sell the rights for 800 thousand dollars, LOLutopian
    • The whole NFT thing is a joke. It lacks merit, value is overall just a scam. NFTs are just animated GIFs and JPGs that lack quality creative integrity.utopian
    • Why don’t you do it, utopian?NBQ00
    • he does good work... I've seen itcherub
    • Pretty sure I get paid more for my work than anyone has got for NFTs on this site. LOL.monospaced
    • what utopian said. There will be applications, like Cuban's ideas, but all this stupid stuff will be worth nothing soon enough, just like the billion versionsformed
    • of crypto. Something will prevail, but right now it's all hype and FOMO, just like the dotcom bubble.formed
