So what happens if let’s say the Indian mutation of the virus is immune to the vaccines? Will this state we’re in go on forever? Forever lockdowns, restrictions, restaurants & bars closed, no or limited traveling, etc.?

    • i don't think they had seen the 'double mutation' by then, but all that means is that it has both the US mutation and the SA/Brazil - what's happening inkingsteven
    • india and brazil is thought to be from dwindling heard immunity to a first wave AND a new strain (ie. a true second wave) hopefully we'll be preparedkingsteven
    • king, "dwindling heard immunity" = what??? Not even 10% of Indian population got the virus yet. In a month or so, Brazil will be where US is now (safe).pr2
    • (safe-ish)pr2
    • 5% reinfection rate in cities you fucking dote. The virus is spreading through the same communities as last time infecting the same people.kingsteven
    • ie. 5% that have it this time had it before, previous 'waves' are just spread. this one is an endmic wave similar to the other coronaviruseskingsteven
    • pick your side pr2, you would seem to be big on 'like the flu' but here your suggesting that covid magically does not act like all other coronaviruseskingsteven
