I'd like to see a more localised verison of football come to life where you get the feeling you're actually in Manchester watching Man United rather than sat in some bland, corporate stadium selling Carling. Promote local products, ales and get the feel of the game back on it's feet again.

Fair enough Manchester City have turned that whole area of Manchester around with youth development and now their Woman's team. It's a big business, but we should never lose sight of who our target audience is and what we're trying to achieve.

I live in Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa has brought the spirit of the game back to Elland Road, but there's so much more to do. Is it a reflection on current neoliberal culture and I still don't get why Boris isn't dribbling out of his cock at this Super league bullshit?

I know football isn't for everyone, but it has so much history and relavance on a human/competitive level that it's something we should try to hang on to.

    • It’s strange when the owners, players and a big chunk of the fans have little or nothing to do with the historic team and location.Chimp
    • I left top level football behind in 2005. I'm an ex-ManUnited supporter and am a first season founder member of FC United. Honestly, I get more out of going...Wolfboy
    • ...to see them play than I did from paying through the nose to be a customer at Old Trafford. & the night Benfica brought a side to play, to open the stadium...Wolfboy
    • ...we pulled together as members to build ourselves, is the best night I've had in football. Fuck the ESL, fuck Sky/BT/Amazon & fuck the 'big 6' anyway.Wolfboy
