It's interesting to tell people not to take the vaccine because you don't know what will happen in 5 to 10 years or longer. You don't know ANYTHING about 5 to 10 years so how is that affecting your decision?

Basic example: If you get covid, for all you know you could have serious new effects 5 to 10 years down the road. Even death! On the other hand, for all you know the current batch of vaccines could protect us against the next coronavirus that comes along. Maybe it saves your life! There's no evidence the vaccine will harm anyone. But there is some evidence that covid has long term health effects on some people who don't die from it.

But no one knows, after all!

Me? I'd rather take my changes with the vaccine than take my chances with the virus. All the experts agree.

It's almost a no-brainer, I'm surprised there are so many frightened little wimps on this forum.

    • For me, it's simply that the mRNA mechanism's quite novel and untested. Also, I have an abiding suspicion that The Powers That Be are planning a cull.Nairn
    • Oh, so you're paranoid and possibly delusional. Ok, carry on.

    • Seriously, if you are making decisions about your health based on a suspicion that some secret group is trying to cull the human race... consult a Dr.

    • Amusing. I mean, I'm not being entirely serious, but do you really believe that we don't live in a world where terrible decisions have the capacity to be made?Nairn
    • I'll be getting the AZ vaccine, as my partner did. If I was getting an mRNA vaccine, I'd do that too. I don't think it doesn't warrant a conversation, is all.Nairn
    • This is The First major roll-out of this tech. My personal suspicion is that it will be much better, but we don't yet know.Nairn
    • What concerns me is that we've entered an era in which all ages might be expected to get vaccinated every year, irrespective, and we have new lockdown memetypesNairn
    • , culture being shaped by control mechanisms that can be easily abused.Nairn
    • Also, mRNA might give everyone leukaemia in a decade. WHO knows.Nairn
    • Yeah sorry I thought you were serious!

    • what are we going to do when all of our doctors and first responders die in 10 years from leukaemia?OP31
    • Have more of us die.
      That's the plan.

      Or not.

    • This is what I've been saying. If you're worried about something in an arbitrary time period, you're really just imagining itmonospaced
