Just discovered there's a whole industry around making clones of open source modules, often better looking and with less hp.
e.g. this 8hp version of Mutable Instruments Plaits.

I wonder is the resale value of clones an issue.
- vcv rack has all these as well. for freesection_014
- Ha! That's actually where I discovered the clones. VCV Rack is amazing.mort_
- yeah, love MI's whole attitude, their DSP is on the microfreak, prologue, check out http://www.axoloti.c… - you can build your own modular modules that runkingsteven
- multiple virtual mutable modules (and a ton of other stuff) on a microcontrollerkingsteven
- i haven't gone down that route, but its pitched like having nord modular within a eurorack modulekingsteven
- Very coolmort_
- I have been seeing a few clones come up second hand , they seem to be pretty much same value as the originalsautoflavour
- Less HP isn’t always a good thing. Those tiny knobs are good for setting cv input amount, not so good for tactile control of a filter for exampleautoflavour
- Especially when you have sausage fingers like meautoflavour
- Does look sexy in black tho.autoflavour
- I ordered the regular MI Plaits. I figured if I start getting fussy about aesthetics, it will end up costing me more.mort_
- love plaits.autoflavour
- Plaits and Pamelas's New Workout will be my first 2 modules - just awaiting delivery. I mounted the Moog DFAM in the case for the time being until it fills up.mort_
