i want to move a small store from etsy to its own site. i don't want to have to build the thing from the ground up, i want some sort of CMS so updating is easy, and an integrated shopping system.
what should i start looking at?
- Shopify?Nairn
- (I admin a shopify site - it's got its quirks, but is quite modifiable, if you can be bothered).Nairn
- yeah i wanna just re-skin something with my identity. no sense in reinventing the wheel in this case. thanks!scarabin
- i like that this has a point-of-sale system attached!scarabin
- shopify yep. I run 4 websites on there and as Nairn says anything is possible if you dig deep but for a basic store it is great.fadein11
- Shopify is cool, I run 1 for me and 3 for clients, the problem is plugins are priced per/mo so it can add up compared to WPGuyFawkes
- WP (woocommerce) is a lot more maintenance though, I run a few of those and am in the process of building moreGuyFawkes
- scalp your etsy page to your own pageshapesalad
- WP way better when it comes to SEOGuyFawkes

- It's a small site, there are obviously way better options to Shopify but I think he just wants a simple option which is Shopify.fadein11
- if you are going WP route use Woo. why pay for shopify on top of Wordpress.fadein11
- I’ll look into it. Thanks!scarabin
- What kind of product numbers are we talking? If its a lowish number on wordpress and you only need paypal payment then WP Simple Paypal Shopping cart is easy.webazoot
