    some observations about this insanity
    -----------------------
This is an acknowlegment of HOW MUCH we have moved our lives online. Remember Beanie Babies? that was crazy too, but it was irl so it seemed more acceptable. This is weirder because it is all online. There a lot of people that just accept it. Others are like.....this is just a bunch of pixels....how much of online life seems like real life to you.....that is an interesting question
    -----------------------
this is a paradigm shift kinda like the ones below but different in key ways

going to movie theater > renting a video cassette > getting your DVD from Netflix in the mail > Streaming

going to record store to buy Vinyl/cassette/CD > buying mp3s from Apple or wherever > streaming

This is not exactly the same....because people are buying something that we were getting for free.....but it is still the same paradigm shift - just for art...the end is not clear yet

    ------------------------

If this keeps going, which it seems like it will in some form or other - integrity will matter.....so this idea of making the same work with different hues....you know, think hard about that.

    • In a clubhouse chat this afternoon there was a fella who has "broadcasts" (streams) digital art and dj mixes much like MTV AMP back in the day.antimotion
    • Beanie Babies was never acceptable unless you were a Beanie Babies freak yourself.palimpsest
    • This is not about the work (even less about , this is about making $ through speculation. People are making the same type of work. There's nothing new about it.palimpsest
    • *(even less about art)palimpsest
    • disagree....there is smoke that makes it seem that way.....but the art is behind all thisdkoblesky

    • @dkoblesky
If in your worldview Beanie Babies was acceptable then of course we're going to disagree on everything else.

    • the headlines are not always the whole storydkoblesky
    • There you go! You just talked about selling and quantities sold. I'm happy creators are getting paid.palimpsest
    • Since you consider yourself an artist how has NFT changed your approach to making art and the artwork itself?palimpsest
    • not a bit....of course this is new. I think about how the collector may use it...resolution...et... my approach is the samedkoblesky
