Last question for you esteemed Mac nerds.
Even though the M1 maxes out at 16GB of RAM, it should be all-around faster in every measurable aspect than my 2017 iMac 3.8 Ghz, right?
Main uses are Logic Pro and Lightroom. I've got something like 40GB of RAM now in the iMac, but it seems like comparisons I can do just show that the M1 mini just smashes everything with the i5 chip.
- I'd love to see a full comparison, but Mac mini - https://browser.geek…mg33

- Are you using loads of big sample libraries? I was going to upgrade my new Mini's (i7) RAM to 32 from 16, but I haven't pushed it past 10GB.section_014
- And that was with an intentionally large project way more plugins and additive drums instances than I'd ever use.section_014
- I don’t think I use a crazy amount of libraries. Lots of stuff that is default in logic, spitfire audio libraries, sometimes Arturia.mg33
