A question for those of you with multiple hardware synths / drum machines.
Do you tend to record multiple instruments at the same time, or do you record each one individually.
I'm asking because my hardware instruments have exceeded the 8 inputs of my audio interface (Focusrite Clarett 4pre).
It would be handy to not have to unplug things to plug in other things and I'm weighing up whether to get a mixing desk or a patch bay or extend the Clarett inputs via ADAT or some combination of the above.
I'm kind of thinking I'll probably never record more than a couple of instruments simultaneously, and in most cases a single instrument, but lack of experience means I'm not really sure.
- I suppose the real need here is being able to have all instruments set up and plugged in ready to jam. Not so much being able to record everything at once.mort_
- Bit of column A, bit of column B. I'd most definitely go the patch bay route if I were you.section_014
- Thanks. The more I look into patch bays, the more I think I need one.mort_
