I don't know where else to write this but here it goes:

My MacBook Pro won't recognize my DJ Mixer when connected with USB.
My Mixer has two USB ports, one for DVS (Midi) and other to connect to the computer with Line In and Line Out.
The first works the second will not work.

I ordered this extra TUB-1 USB thing to connect it to the computer has the mixer doesn't have a RCA Master Out.

After several failed attempts as I wanted to record some mixes I tried to connect the mixer to the computer via RCA and Input.

Doesn't work...I found out that in my Mac that's just Micro only.

In my old Mac (2009) I recorded some mixes now just forget it.
It seems I have to buy something like a Focusrite Scarlett or something...which my not work because of my USB issue.

Anyone else having this issue or had this issue?

    • "which may not work..."oey_oey
    • you need to have an audio interface to record onto a mac, eg the focusrite you mention. for straight recording from a record player i get by with an old imic.hans_glib
    • for the studio i have an old (firewire!) motu 828 mk2 which is boss.hans_glib
    • hey hans_glib, now I know that but that the USB also doesn't record anything from the soundcard of the mixer that's weird now.oey_oey
    • In the last three days I've been through forum after forum and this is a common problem.oey_oey
    • if the mixer has a USB audio out, you shouldn't need a separate audio interface. The analog to digital conversion would be happening in the mixer.mort_
    • Try updating the drivers for the mixer?mort_
    • supposedly there's no drivers for this mixeroey_oey
    • I think this is a mac problem. USB Audio Codec not workingoey_oey
    • Is it a Native Instruments mixer by any chance?mort_
    • no, it's a vestax pmc-05 pro IVoey_oey
    • Ah. looks like there's only USB for midi, not audio?

    • ^ that's what the TUB-1 is for, I/O over USB. it says its coreaudio so should be compatible... it has 4 in and 4 out so may need configured...kingsteven
    • ie. the second channel on the mixer may come in on ins 3-4? does it appear in System Preferences -> Sound? or in Apps/Utilities/Audio Midi Setupkingsteven
    • ah, i was looking at dodgy info the manual for tub-1 says it's just stereo. not much info out there though... did you connect the internal jumper cables okay?kingsteven
    • ^that's it!!!oey_oey
