From my Latin American perspective, what happened in the Capitol, without going into details, represents a weird, bizarre, giant milestone. Not only because of the meaning and shat triggered what ended up with a violation of such an emblematic institution, but mainly because of the mere fact that somehow it was possible, what for me (and I dare to speak in the name of other Latin Americans) seemed unwavering; The Capitol of the safest nation, with the most feared military power in the world, with the hundreds of films and documentaries since I can remember, building an absolute, unequivocal, heavy-handed feeling of total control... a nation showing such an absolute leadership..
How could it happen to the military intelligence, the one that has been instilled in us by more than half century, that a couple thousand civilians disguised as special ops made everything fail so bluntly so that the occupation of the fucking Capitol could even happen??

I feel that everything I considered about the US “intelligence” has been put into perspective. The FBI, CIA, blah... imo it is going to take several years to re-establish that "almighty" aura in the eyes of the rest of the world after having shown such an ominous breach.
