I ignored this movie when it came out because of all the general disappointment i saw scattered about the internet - I remember seeing "interstellar" opening night and being hugely disappointed and so I let this one pass.
Gotta say, huge mistake. Should have gone to a drive-thru. This movie kills it. It's a perfect modern summer blockbuster. Fun as shit, just enough weird to keep you engaged, and the visuals are just stunning.
I don't think John David Washington was the best choice for this role though, his delivery on the writing feels non-native, and a lot of the human interaction is very mechanical. Nolan obviously lacks heart but he never has been able to make any sort of human connection in his films.
This shit rules though and in one of those backwards-ass realities we get a whole slew of these timefuck episodes.
