"On 6 January, armed and violent Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop Biden's votes from being counted and him being certified as the winner, during the 2020 United States presidential election Electoral College count. Lockdown and evacuation orders were given and the session was suspended. The Senate and House chambers were both breached, with one insurgent saying "Trump won the election!" at the podium of the House. Insurgents also broke into offices of congresspeople, including the office of Nancy Pelosi. The international community immediately reacted, with both Turkey and the NATO secretary-general calling for calm."
