    Great post dkoblesky.

Regarding age, where I see the problem is the job location and salary. At least in the UK.

Majority of creative jobs are in London.
Yet salaries are average £35k ~ £45k for mid to senior roles...

    • 10 years ago I saw some senior roles advertised at £50k, 10 years later, stilling seeing a few of the top senior roles at £50k.shapesalad
    • 10 years and no adjustment for inflation, cost of living. LDN average house price 2010 = £280k, 2020 = £480k. Senior Designer 2010 £50k, 2020 £50K...shapesalad
    • Try being 45+ in that economic climate.shapesalad
    • Especially when your partner earns near to 0, and you have no family wealth behind you. £50k in London gets you a nice flatshare lifestyle, not a family life.shapesalad
    • Prices in LDN have been shit forever, but your 2010 valuation is at least £100k under what it should be. Things are bad, but not THAT bad.Nairn
    • Well.. maybe it's more a micro economic problem then... as in my economic problem.shapesalad
    • Always been an issue. But in house corporate jobs are out there. Not first choice for new designers looking to build portfolio...but can be solid choicedkoblesky
    • yeah in-house is preferable to agency grind any day.shapesalad
