Another dull Nairn Blog post ahoy. Skip!:

    .

Just had a large, heavy and expensive order picked up to be delivered to client, 17 minutes after the 1100–1700 pickup period, so i've spent the whole day slightly antagonised (on my own in my studio in an otherwise big building, so have to respond to every knock on the main outside door, etc etc) waiting for it to be picked up.

Very well packaged. Or, so I thought. I'm now unsure how much padding I put at the top, assuming (stupidly) it would always be relayed upright. Especially given I'd put notices on all sides, and made the CoG low, and put in a foam buffer in the base, to encourage appropriate carriage.

First thing I see as the guy takes it out to the van is him hoist it onto his shoulder, topside at 90°. I raise my finger and quietly murmur "uhh...." before I realise my package's fate is now beyond my scope.

I hope I packed that thing well.

    • 'heavy' = 29kg.

    • I used to do that with bags of cement when I laboured. But then, they were bags of cement.Nairn
    • I like your posts. :-)
Hope it reached the destination ok.
      Delivery drivers don't care though.

    • It got there undestroyed and client is joyous. Yaay for small mercies.
