Got the 12Pro in the mail today. It's funny; getting a new phone used to be so much more momentous in the years that Apple really made advances in the phone design.

These days it's like 75% of the excitement is the iOS updates that precede it, and 25% is the new phone itself. It's pretty much an afterthought; they're not getting much faster, battery life isn' that much better, the new physical design doesn't matter that much because it's just going to get a case on it, and that's it. Camera updates are really the only thing that excite me, but it's not something you really put through the paces right away.

    • hmm they getting crazy faster. But yeah, we hit a plateau years ago in terms of smartphones being exciting.inteliboy
    • it's like getting a new computer. it feels nice having a fresh object.... but it's all the same shit. Same adobe. Same OS. Same emails. Same QBN.inteliboy
    • Agree about the plateau. I saw that Apple is looking into patents for foldable stuff. I seriously hope they don't go that Samsung route.mg33
    • The Samsung Fold was ridiculous. A true un-needed solution in search of a non-existent problem. And it was a flop on the first try.mg33
    • Agreed. Phones are boring now. It's all about the camera updates these days. I'd much prefer more battery. Saying that, 5G compatibility is a necessity by 2022.Hayzilla
    • Folding will be great once they get the technology sorted. I'd much prefer a smaller phone that can't pocket dial.formed
