@monospace replying here because too much to write. quarantine is required at point of first entry. that is Shanghai for me. 'Hotel' staff is in hazmat-style suits, as was all cabin crew on the Air China flight by the way. My Quarantine hotel is in the middle of nowhere. far outsite of the city. I am not sure if it is a badly designed new construction or a hastily converted building. It feels unfinished and messy. when I arrived last night after traveling for 16 hours with only airplane snacks I was told 'no dinner tonight - you want instant noodles ?'
I also realized the room was cold so I complained about it. I was offered an additional blanket as the aircon heating is off. So I slept last night with socks and a sweater. Upon arrival I was given a thermometer to measure and report my temperature twice a day. In the morning I found some crappy breakfast pack in front of the door. apparently provided by China Eastern Airlines. One of the worst. I was just able to eat the yoghurt. When I went downstairs to ask for a solution regarding the heating they threatened me to call the police if I leave my room again. I have been in this hotel for less than 18 hours and I can only advise everyone: Do not come to China while quarantine is a requirement. At least QBN is accessable, even though it is missing a lot of embedded links eg Youtube. I have worked in China before and I already regret coming again.
