Huh.
So I'm converting a scan of a hand-drawn sketch into a vector and therefore something usable to me.
Usual steps - load in Photoshop, desaturate, edit out any unwanted level excesses, check perimeter of drawing for gaps, wand select interior and the expand by half the width of the drawn stroke (in this case, 3px).
I missed a detail on the first attempt, so ctrl-z'd a couple of times and wand-selected and... huh. It's not selecting just the interior - it's leaking, and I'm getting an 'outer inverse' selection too. Funny. That... shouldnt've happened.
Cue 2 minutes of swearing, trying to work out how I've 'poisoned' my History with an incorrect application and then I zoom out so i can get a better view and try again and - voila! - it works. Huh.
I undo, zoom back in and try the same and it fucks up again.
Somehow, the wand selection tool is zoom-sensitive.
Great stuff. Thanks Adobe.
