One thing I find really annoying is the way they handle iCloud photos. In theory it's a nice way to save all the photos and videos from your phone and I'd rather use Apple service for this than Google or some other site.

But for some reason they decided it can only be a syncing service rather than a true backup service, so if you delete something from your phone to free up space it gets deleted from iCloud too lol.

Supposedly they will solve this problem by replacing the photos on your phone with low res versions when you start to run out of space but they give the user zero control over this. Good example of where the hands off design philosophy fails and you should actually give user control over the details of how it works.

    • Apple's services have always been absolute dogshit. The only thing they have changed in the last ten years is the name from MobileMe to iCloud.face_melter
    • iOS DOES do the low res swap version to save space. But I agree with the whole sync issue.monospaced
    • It does but you have no control over when this happens. Like right now I have only about 10GB left on my phone but Apple still doesn't optimize the space.yuekit
