How much money would you want in the bank before you quit your job?

    • Quit temporary, for a while? Maybe 6 months of expenses. Quit as in retire, at current lifestyle, a couple milli would last about 100 years at least lolgrafician
    • As in take a break, maybe look for a different job you like better.doggydoggdog
    • 6 mo to be easy, 1 year to really don't give a fuckgrafician
    • ^same as going freelance for goodgrafician
    • 6mo is a good safety net.deathboy
    • how much money for 6 months? Somewhere between 7500€ and 9000€ would be nice for 6 months without having to work.oey_oey
    • That's like 1200 to 1500 a month. I live in Germany so I think I would manage pretty good.oey_oey
    • Depends what you mean by quit and what your life would look like afterwards. What duration? Living/ rent costs? Next income?NBQ00
    • @oey: 1200-1500 € a month in DE?! Christ, in Munich, you pay that much in rent alone for a 2-Zimmer.Continuity
    • @Continuity: that's a shit loads of money! I live with 5 more people in an "apartment" in a wohnprojekt. I pay 280€ for my 16m2 bedroom plus 45€ costs...oey_oey
    • ...for my daughter. Then I pay 181€ for a 38m2 working place/atelier. With that comes one bathroom, a toilet, a small kitchen for 6, a 44 m2 living room and...oey_oey
    • ...a guest room. Plus all the stuff in the building and the garden etc...so that's around 500€ a month. Food we have a pot and each gives 5 to 7€ a day.oey_oey
    • That makes around 200€ a month more so now we are by 700€. Plus phone 20€. So I still would have around 500€ for other things left if I have 1200€ a month.oey_oey
    • Wow, that’s a life, man! Shared dinners and all!nb
