I know we have scots here... Please halp me with this phrase; "takkin pish"
See, I always thought "takken pish" meant "taking (the) piss." What does "pish" mean?
Listen at 1:00
"Du(you) kens(knows) what I'm lick. Du sees me ?leher? not, and du sees me takkin pish"
Ummm, I'm pretty sure the bible doesn't contain the phrase "taking the piss" unless it was a REALLY drunk re-translation or something. Lol.
- i'm going to guess it means "talking nonsense"hans_glib
- you know what i'm like, you see me 'layin at'? and talking pish, before i open my mouth you know the very words i'll say.microkorg
- "Talkin' Pish" means speaking nonsense.microkorg
- no idea what the 'laying at' means. I thought lying out/downmicrokorg
- Mad accent, it goes a bit Scando sounding up that way. Talking pish is defo a lot of the bible, but I don't think it's actually in it.PhanLo
- My mind wants to hear the german verb "lernen"(to learn) but indeed microkorg nailed it. She is skipping over words, or reading a butchered version of Psalm 139cherub
- It is indeed "layin at". But the "at" should be "down."cherub
- 139 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my pathcherub
- and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.cherub
- Her next sentence is blending german and english in the same sentence. "Du geyns(goes) a'fore me, and du comes a'hundt(behind) me."cherub
