Soooo. It seems maybe, perhaps Tom Hardy is up next. Possibly.
Not that I don't like Tom Hardy — I think he's fucking brilliant — but, I was rather hoping for Idris Elba.
- Hardy will be great. But I do I think that Elba would have been betterGnash
- I think they need someone younger.zarkonite
- i'd hoped it'd be that woman in the trailer for this new filmhans_glib
- Hardy will be great. He can play a mentalist bruiser no problem. They should do a proper restart and knock it all back to Year One, in the 60's.face_melter
- Yeah that would be great...go back to the 60s and make a tribute to the early Connery films, but darker and more realistic.yuekit
- But of course it will probably be another interchangeable action movie with invisible cars and people bouncing off explosions.yuekit
- Yeah, they would just make it like the Craig films but with drainpipe suits and Vespas.face_melter
- I like the Craig films for their bruising, but it's obvious they were caught sleeping when Greengrass redefined the spy-punchy-action-ex... genre with Bourneface_melter
- ^ Really? Two different types of films, imho. Bourne wasn't really "spy" flicks, imho. I enjoyed them, but very different.formed
- From what I've read, it won't be Hardy or Ibris. Too limiting for Hardy, Ibris is too old and already said no.formed
- Looking back on this post, having Hardy in the role would be a bit too similar to Craig's Bond anyway.
I still want Idris in role. :(Continuity - It’s more about what they do with it I think. Casino Royale was great as it was a complete departure. IMO face_melter’s idea above would be interesting, yuekit
- there’s so much stuff you could draw from in terms of the real history of spying during the Cold War.yuekit
- Anyway the last two Daniel Craig films were absolute shit, I gave up on the last one midway through.yuekit
