Grafican, you are wrong about Black&White.
It's a bit sad that you create this narrow box for yourself.
Look at:
Saul Leiter
William Eggleston
Harry Gruyaert
Viviane Maier
Todd Hido
...Personaly I'm not fond of B&W because it's an abstration. I prefer color. But i'm not spewing shit like 'pay attention' blabla Cartier Bresson. I actually interviewed the son of the developer of Bresson. Guess who did all the magic. The developer. Yeah boy.
- I’ll add Daido to that list.ben_
- So let me get this straight: I can't have my opinions about photography here because...why?grafician
- @ben_ DaidoMoriyama shoots mostly b&w, for the same reasons I mentioned in my "rant"grafician
- @tank02 I'm not wrong about b&w, we just have different opinions and that's fine.grafician
- Also from your list here, I only knew Saul and Viviane and they both shot mostly b&w, Viviane even more so - if we still keep the discussion about street ph.grafician
- If the discussion spills into other genres, I could give you a very long list of b&w style photographers that were/are iconicgrafician
- Also I'm not making the art rules here or something, what's the matter with you guys?!grafician
- lol at not knowing the list. aren't you a photography teacher or something?inteliboy
- @inteliboy Where have I said I'm a "photography teacher"?! Re-read my posts...grafician
- I also gave Bresson as a big example of conceptual and b&w style of photography with great success and he is well known.grafician
- Also Viviane Maier was discovered recently, she is not in the curriculums yet I believe. Todd Hido doesn't do street, more like landscapes, but his work is greagrafician
- You‘ve never even heard of Eggleston? And you’re dictating what isnt art?nb
- Yeah just pointing out he also shoots colour and does both quite well, imo of course. On with it.ben_
- I was speaking to fraficiannb
