    Bit of a rant / AITA

    I'm quarantined in my room for a full week, because I met up with 3 mates.... so that I can attend my girlfriend's mom's birthday party

    I was staying 2 weeks in the Algarve with my gf, my sister + hubby and 3 others who flew from the UK.

    Some friends of mine were staying in an amazing beach house in the same village, so when the others left I went to stay 2 days with them, then came home.

    I offered to stay there for a full week so that she didn't have to have any contact with me, but that's not an option - I have to be at this party. Also, apparently because one of the people in my house is asthmatic... I have to quarantine for 1 week to see if I have any symptoms before I can have contact with anyone.

    I get that she doesn't want to put her parents/aunts/grandma in danger. But if it's that important, don't make me come to the party, right???

    Or am I the asshole?
