UPDATE : Liberty Cap Identification & Lawn Care
--------------------------------...Alas, some terrible news. As of 90 minutes ago the suspects are somewhere between my house and the sea.
During the most torrential downpour i have seen in some years the road outside my house flooded. As i live on a road with terraced housing there is nowhere for the water to go but in between the houses and through peoples back gardens. Well, mostly my back garden. A couple of feet of fast flowing water and debris later my once pristine stripy lawn now looks like a fucking rubbish tip and all the mushrooms have gone.
Thanks for your interest and help. Maybe more will grow.
- I'd be surprised if they were caps - you're in Brum, right? I've seen shrooms in UK similar to caps before but absolutely not them at all.Nairn
- Caps need a cold shock so tend to be mid autumn at earliest, at least as far as I knowNairn
- I know they grow at the local park and I’ve shared some a friend harvested last year. You’re right though, it’s was later in the year, September/October I thinkMorning_star
- Have you ever considered having a go growing shrooms? Caps are *hard* but 'Mexican' shrooms are comparatively easy.Nairn
- Failing that - ordering 'truffles'/'philosop... stones' (mycelium sclerotia) from Holland?Nairn
