Transgender patients are at greater risk of complications since most treatments and drugs rely on the patients male or female biology and not what they identify with.
Lol shocking.

- did you even read the article you fuck? it says they have unique physiological traits that defy the thresholds set for modern medicine...kingsteven
- it actually says in there that in most cases there physiology matches closer to gender they have transitioned to. but as there is no way to know if someone iskingsteven
- trans from medical records, they have no data on which drugs work better in what scenarios.kingsteven
- 5 fucking upvotes from dickheads too. just straight up spinning an article about trans folks shedding light on how treatments may not be effective for somekingsteven
- folks (trans or not) because assumptions are made on the grounds of gender and race rather than your actual physiology... as trans bashing.kingsteven
- Chill man, don’t get your thongs in a knot. Did you read it? Or are you projecting your biased on the article? Nobody’s bashing anything_niko
- Just pointing out the absurdity of the situation._niko
- i read the article. your synopsis is totally incorrect and it has nothing to do with political correctness.kingsteven
- most treatments and drugs will be correct for the transitioned gender, a few are not.kingsteven
- but in those treatments that are not, its possibly that non-trans people are also receiving the wrong drugs because the decision is made by gender and notkingsteven
- by the patients' own physiologykingsteven
- on top of that the article is mostly folks asking to be medically treated as their biological sex or as trans, not what they identify as...kingsteven
- your synopsis suggests the exact oppositekingsteven
- “It was really cute and awesome that I was treated as male, but in being this way, they didn’t necessarily take into account the body,”_niko
- thousands of transgender men could be missing out on potentially life-saving cervical (Pap) smears and breast exams, while transgender women could be missing ou_niko
- out on abdominal aortic aneurism check-ups (or prostate cancer screenings_niko
- “Similarly, your gender shapes a number of other medical decisions, such as the dose of drugs you’re prescribed._niko
- ... For those whose gender and sex are the same, this makes sense, because male and female biology is fundamentally different_niko
- ... the former have more water in the body, a higher surface area, and a higher body mass. All of these factors can influence the way pharmaceuticals behave._niko
- Females also have more sites for certain drugs to bind to, and are therefore more sensitive to them. They tend to clear them more slowly, so they are more_niko
- Susceptible to overdose”
How does this go against my synopsis? Maybe it’s how you read it?_niko - Thats administrative error not political correctness though. And it's only a few treatments/drugs for certain patients not most.kingsteven
- I do understand what you are trying to say. This is not what your original post implies and I'm assuming the upvotes didnt click throughkingsteven
