the DNC ticket is exactly the neoliberal ideology in a fucking nutshell:

    - biden's adherence to "the good ol' days" and acceptance of the establishment / institutional media whose only use for new ideas is based in their marketability

    - harris being the identity politics candidate which white liberal women / karens and their cuck husbands will feel some sense of personal gratification voting for simply on appearance and not at all due to her record of being california's top cop... the ultimate underscore of liberal racism in the us, identity politics excusing socioeconomic arrogance as "pragmatism"

win or lose this shuts down the chances for an actual leftist movement for some time - the republicans will have no problem taking back the house/senate seats they lose come 2022, and the american establishment will have survived the potential of sanders bringing gasp of hope to it all.

    then we can all die.

    • not to mention the DNC waving a giant flag in the air "dear police: we side with you and will do so when we get elected, don't worry"colin_s
    • their win will be a temporary reprieve but ultimately will entrench america in a course of late capitalism that so far has only spawned war and trumpcolin_s
    • disease and mass death of the elderly for now, and maybe some assistance will come for a few years but this is a wet dream for globalistscolin_s
    • a-fucking-men colin_smoldero
    • Personally, I didn't want to see this fabled "actual leftist movement" in the first place, and I'm sure a lot of others didn't either.monospaced
    • An actual cop is perhaps a valuable perspective to have that high up, and could do some actual good around here.monospaced
    • These days, just suggesting we treat people with equal respect is considered leftist, it's totally insane.monospaced
    • @mono - i'm not saying line up the landlords to death camps, but america's center is pretty far to the right and needs legit leftist representation to balancecolin_s
    • most of which has to do with the combinations of economics and policing that i just don't see the democrats representing at all, evercolin_s
    • ^this. Feels like it was all reduced to:
      - being good = left
      - being bad = right
      while striving to be centrist?!
Black or white is not enough at all
      ********
    • damn, I mean I agree with @mono treating ppl with respect makes you a lefty = insane
      ********
    • Yes, it's to the right. Let's bring it toward the left. But let's not go radical ffs.monospaced
    • Going middle is a good fuckin' start.monospaced
    • center-left should be the right amount of gray maybe
      ********
    • How many conservatives upvoted this post Russia-style? :)yuekit
    • For me, it comes down to the fact we have a couple decades at most to deal w/ climate change. One side takes it seriously, the other pretends it's not happeningyuekit
    • I supported the left during the primaries, but I do think if the center-left gets into power ALONG with winning House and Senate they will take some significantyuekit
    • steps forward on this front.yuekit
    • Also have to admit I get frustrated with people on the activist left sometimes. There has to be some recognition of reality and what it takes to win.yuekit
    • Instead (and this is not directed at people here, but what I see on Twitter etc) it often becomes this endless cynical moralistic circlejerk about how fuckedyuekit
    • the system is. The people doing the real work, meanwhile, are those lobbying quietly for various causes behind the scenes, regardless of who the candidate is.yuekit
