I am a complete spongloid!
forgot that in the directory structure my swf movies were all in a subdirectory called swf!!!
Hence why the reason why it was working in flash player but not browser.... *sigh*
Man... I have wasted about 3 hours yesterday and now 3 toda on this ...aaarrrrgggghhh!!
