  the wild thing about the past 5-6 years - at least in america - is that each one has progressively been worse. like by the time trump was even elected everyone was held together by a shoestring just from the election alone.

  2017 happened and it felt like it was trying to 1-up 2016 with the first six months of trump just doing nonstop escalation / distraction and media going crazy. same with 2018, 2019. each year was getting worse but now we can't even remember the shit that was going on then.

  that's the real insanity behind the trump admin - this slow progression to which over 4 years people are having trauma-level panic but before they can come to closure on one major psychological break, the next happens. then 2020 came along and was like "hold my beer."

  there are no actions without an equal and opposite reaction, and i wonder what the reaction is going to be for all these years of stretching the american psyche out like a rubber band
