    As i'm a filthy colonialist English Limey and ignorant of the actual realities of the US political system, elections and leadership shenanigans, i have a few question.

    How distanced are most US citizens from the direct impact of a decision a president would make?
    Which has more impact on a US citizen, State or Federal policies and legislation?
    How much, if at all, is the president an impotent figurehead?
    Is it really that much of an issue that the next president will be a septuagenarian with diminished mental faculties?
    Without violence and civil disobedience, is it possible to add a more suitable candidate into the mix for the upcoming election?
