The doctor behind a cognitive test Trump took says ‘it’s supposed to be easy’. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or MoCA, test discussed by President Trump and Chris Wallace is ‘not an IQ test,’ Dr. Ziad Nasreddine tells MarketWatch.
The doctor who developed a widely used test that screens for early signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease says that cognition is “a pertinent question” during a presidential election with presumptive candidates over age 70. Problem is, both sides of the political divide are interpreting this test incorrectly.
- I think one doctor said, it's so easy that if you don't get 100% they take away your driving licence.PhanLo
- Passing the test expected for any stable person. It's not supposed to be a challenge unless you have brain damage or deterioration or are heavily inebriatedmonospaced
- My dad has early-stage dementia l. Talked to my stepmom about the test because he took it. Scored a 20 on his test this year.mg33
- I can’t remember which questions precisely that he missed, probably the subtraction ones, and he has trouble knowing what year it is.mg33
