I'm sitting here trying to figure out why I like the leeds/yorkshire accent so much, and I can't work it out. At first I thought it had to do with watching Dr. Who and liking Christopher Eccleston so much, but then I thought nah. That's not it.

Uk people, at least tell me this. What part of the UK has the reputation for producing the most manliest men? As in the toughest, scariest, most likely to survive if you dropped him off in the wilderness kind of man? Does that exist in Europe even?

    • I once drove along the M1 near Leeds, car radio stuck to local Leeds radio station... my god, how to sound instantly stupid = have a strong Leeds accent.shapesalad
    • Scotland produces the most manly men. The more south you go towards Brighton, the less manly they become.shapesalad
    • Yea I've met some tough Scottish characters, men and women both. That's for sure.cherub
    • What does Leed's and Yorkshire make you think of? Are they famous for anything? (Except for sounding slightly uneducated)cherub
    • there's a honesty / no BS attitude to it - but above all its friendly - even perhaps jolly with the perfect amount of sarcasm._me_
    • to the 2nd q - I'd say the Danish / Nordik peoples have done this for millenia._me_
    • tho i've known some tough Welsh lads - they'd smash anyone and then sing in a choir about it afterwards._me_
    • That's some good insight _me_ thanks.cherub
    • Scottish men are manliest. But I would say that.Doris_McSquirter
