some of what i've seen. not "riots" as in "people burning banks" so much as "police attacking people."

i have been out photographing a handful of nights so far and have been gassed, shot and swung at by police (all in portland).

the social definition of a riot somehow constituting a corporate building on fire from a minor act of vandalism infuriates me. the police have been instigating far worse violence against actual people every fucking night.

    • Good on you documenting this. The world will remember these times.ben_
    • so you chose to go all criminal and surprised at how you are greeted? and if that building was your home would you feel different?

    • @deathboy nothing is criminal about people occupying public spaces. federal buildings are our property anyway.colin_s

    • are they really our spaces. shared space comes with rules from management. i protest daily taking a dog off leash where it says leashs mandatory.

    • if i get a ticket. i get it. but you never answered how you might feel if it was your property
