It seems to me that the US is made up of 25% lunatics on the far right, 25% lunatics on the far left and 50% logical, moderate and intelligent people down the middle who can’t really stand either extremes.
It seems clear to me that part of the fucked up divide affecting Americans is the requirement to choose between two polar ideologies when most people fall into a 3rd moderate centrist party that doesn’t exist but should.
- Over 50 years the USA has changed slowly, now we look for things that make us all different instead of things that make us all the same.... sad.robotron3k
- Could anyone seriously call Joe Biden extreme left? Seems to me that Democrats cater heavily to the moderate crowd when it comes to election time.yuekit
- And nonetheless most national elections are still a coin flip. There doesn't seem to be much of a reward for being moderate in America, half the country isyuekit
- still going to hate you no matter what.yuekit
- Of course, most politicians are centre right or left to garner as much votes as possible but I’m talking about the kkk trump yards on the right vs the sjw libta_niko
- ...libtard snowflakes on the left. They are each probably only 5-10% of the party and are not only the most vocal but also held as the standard bearer of each_niko
- I wonder how many Americans don’t care for trump and don’t care for Biden, but are left with the choice of not voting, or voting for the lesser of two idiots_niko
- Us voter turnout is only 56% so realistically there are more than enough numbers for a viable centrist candidate who appeals to moderates on both sides._niko
- Think your 50 % logical is way off. Not in the 10 if generous but likely 5********
- OK but niko, are you really saying Biden and Trump represent two equally extreme sides?yuekit
- It's a nice sentiment but I don't think it captures the reality of where politics in the USA stands at the moment. Remember that something like 90% ofyuekit
- Republicans support Trump, even at this point. Are they part of the sensible moderate middle?yuekit
- 65 million republicans voted trump and 65 million democrats voted Hillary last election so there are at least 100 million eligible voters who are left out_niko
- The biggest issue is that you have to choose between two polar ideologies. What if you like bits of both and hate bits of both which most people do._niko
- I don't think you can generalize about why all 100 million people don't vote. A lot of them probably just don't care or pay attention to politics.yuekit
- Black people, hispanics and young people for instance are key demographics that don't vote. But I don't think it's because they all moderate centrists.yuekit
- Hmm good point. Kind of sad._niko
- I think u take votes for Trump as support. I'd say most are out of disgust for dem policy. Enemy of my enemy. Telling u most people I know voted for him********
- Wasn't because they like him and never watched election night. They just knew a douche is better than a turd********
- Look at obamas election. The first. He had the best speech writer. The writer understood it. Remeber thinking hmm these words do you match the man selling. Bit********
- I'd vote for him over status quo party rep right romney. It was all lies. But goddamn that speech writer was great********
