This is what is pissing me off about COVID. I live in a pretty isolated area. Almost 6000 square km and a population of almost 90,000. In the last 2 weeks we did not have any new cases. All together we have 9 cases, 7 are recovered and 2 still in hospital. Then out of nowhere we get a confirmed case yesterday. WTF where did it come from? Who brought it in? Who did they contact? Where did they go in the area? None of these details are released to the public.
We basically were clear of COVID in this area. Now there are questions again and no answers on how this happened. Most of the policies for reopening and all information about cases come from the provincial level here (Canada). They are not giving us specifics on this case and there seems to be no way to get it.
If we want COVID to go away we should know that the people who were in contact with this new case are tested and isolating completely if positive. How else can we really end this thing?
