What's going on in China, as far as the COVID-19 pandemic?

They expelled all foreign journalists and stopped reporting their cases/deaths.

Is there really no way of knowing of how bad the situation actually is there? Or that/if they have a cure/vaccine already?

    • It's not that much of a mystery. There are millions of foreigners living in China, people vlogging about their lives on YouTube etc.yuekit
    • Also they didn't expel all foreign journalists, just one or two papers that offended the government somehow.yuekit
    • it's going to be very interesting when we find out how the u.s. lied and mismanaged the virus.... but, but, china!renderedred
    • The part that a lot of people miss is that most of China barely got the virus. There was a severe epidemic in Wuhan, but the government imposed shutdowns inyuekit
    • other cities before things got too bad. Even if you don't trust CCP numbers, look at Hong Kong. 30 minute metro ride to mainland China and very few cases there.yuekit
    • @yuekit mind citing some of your sources for the info you're giving here?Krassy
    • Krassy here you can see the numbers by region: https://www.statista…yuekit
    • As you can see the vast majority of cases were only in Hubei province, where Wuhan is.yuekit
    • And I understand people don't necessarily trust the Chinese government, but I do think the numbers in Hong Kong and Macau which are not run by the CCP and haveyuekit
    • independent media, can be trusted.yuekit
    • If the virus was really out of control in China, it would be really hard to keep it out of Hong Kong, which is right next to Shenzhen, one of the major cities.yuekit
    • yes, it's hard to believe much, if anything, reported by the CCP.Krassy
    • Maybe so, but there were also a lot of crazy theories about China that turned out to be false.yuekit
    • Munsk said on joe rogan china is back at full steam around 1:23:0 in his conversationuan
    • I mean, Elon and Rogan are pretty much the definition of the modern american hero, should be enough to make you start asking questions about what‘s really goinguan
