This is the ultimate culmination of the grand Republican plan: One party authoritarian rule. They've got the executive and the judicial branches completely locked down and the legislative branch is effectively being held hostage. With no checks and balances they can do whatever the hell they want because not only are there no consequences, it's all perfectly "legal" in the sense that judges and the Justice Department have said it's okay. Republicans can now lie, cheat, steal, collude with foreign governments, impede investigations, openly enrich themselves and their cronies, etc. ad nauseam with absolutely no repercussions. If/when Trump wins another four years in office just you wait and see how far they go with this shit. Now that they know they can do anything they want and get away with it, what's to keep them from prosecuting and locking up their political "enemies" just for existing? Who's going to stop them? Not the judges they appointed, not the Justice Department they own, not the Congress they've got gridlocked, and certainly not the White House who will applaud and call it a great day for America.
