We just finalized a contract on a house in the 'burbs, with a closing date of May 15. Locked in a great rate on the mortgage yesterday evening and everything. Holy shit.

I'm SO glad I had my money in cash form — for the down payment and closing costs — and not in the markets before this all went down. I am slowly going insane in my apartment in Manhattan, and nothing would make me happier than to get the fuck outta here so I can enjoy more space and go outside without fear.

    • Congrats man. db’s comments about having to make up the difference in a mortgage based on buying over market value should offer some insight into how smartben_
