China numbers seem again suspicious. Everyday only 30-40 new cases while rest of the world is in the thousands. Either they really containing it or just bullshitting.

Germany now over 3000 new cases.

    • Or maybe they really did mostly eradicate the virus. They took some pretty extreme measures after all.yuekit
    • Throughout all of this people accused China of fabricating the numbers, said they engineered the virus in a lab, they were mass burning bodies.yuekit
    • Worth pointing out there is zero evidence at this point any of that ever happened.yuekit
    • This is racist and needs some more diversity and gender neutrality.shapesalad
    • Lock-down is still in effect.Gnash
    • Locked down, litle to no avenues for transmission - as soon as they open up again, numbers will rise. Rinse, repeat, until we have a vaccine, etcNairn
    • Did China ever mass test? If yes, then yes, they got all the cases because they rushed to it.
      ********
    • But then again, it's China ffsake. So a 50/50
      ********
    • shapesalad. because?pango
    • Pango doesn’t get the joke. Did you lose the funnies recently ? ;)NBQ00
    • It seems to me they did mass symptoms-testing: temperature spot-checks, and so on. Don't know about an actual mass Covid-19 test, though.Continuity
    • The 'China returning to normal' story https://www.theguard…webazoot
    • And the report from the ground... https://time.com/580…webazoot
    • Have they un-welded any of the doors yet?Gnash
    • they don‘t register new cases anymore...only new incoming ones..but they stopped spread. now they are cautiously opening parts of the country and see what worksuan
    • it‘s new for them too at this scale...but they have some experience because of sars and mers.uan
    • and here in the west....it‘s new...you feel it, govs are struggling to contain the spread. society is struggling.uan
    • The quarantine/lockdown there is pretty serious unlike the rest of the world. A report from inside: https://bit.ly/33DOh…GRAC
    • hard to find it funny when that shit is racism is happening more often in real life.pango
    • see if you find it funny when its happening to real people.pango
    • China's reported recovery rate is so suspicious as well - nearly 90% ! Do they have a (secret) cure?Krassy
    • Krassy, look at the global recovery rate

      yuekit
    • Under Closed casesyuekit
    • Not only that, Twitter is censoring news coming out of China.Beeswax
    • @yuekit I have looked -- the global recovered cases include the ones China reporting. China is reporting 71,150 out of the 90,603 global recovered cases! Hmm?Krassy
    • Yeah fair point. However I don't think there is anything suspicious about this. My understanding is that most people who get the disease, first of all theyuekit
    • majority are mild cases to begin with. They are not people fighting for their lives. And yes, the vast majority recover.yuekit
    • Look at the numbers for Korea. I think it's also around 90-95% recovery rate.yuekit
    • The other countries mostly have not been hit by the virus long enough for the recovery rate to be accurately reflected in the numbers.yuekit
    • Even South Korea's recovery rate (25%) is still waaaaay lower than China's (90%).Krassy
    • Something doesn't add up. Bottom line is: China is either not reporting accurately, or has a cure.. or both. Propaganda machine is in full effect. Grain of saltKrassy
    • they built extra facilities to cure the patients. only 1 province was severely hit. after isolation they pulled resources from other regions there.uan
    • they watch over the patients (they still got a lot of ill ppl) and assist them with respirators and care to make them survive.uan
    • italy (and europe) can‘t just pull ressources from another million ppl region to support the emergency.uan
    • I defend chinese because it‘s the only method we know works. there is no magical dna scan print 3d vaccine tech around.uan
    • ^ China's propaganda is workingKrassy
    • that was the argument in italy 1month ago.uan
    • but it‘s not about trust or not trust chinese. it‘s about epidemic management.uan
    • How are you getting 25%? If you add up the total recovered plus the people who died in Korea...i.e., all cases that had outcomes, 96% recovery rate.yuekit
