So following on from my 'CEPHtmlEngine'-related illustrator woes above, I followed some advice (as linked by gnash) and hard-axed the CEPHtmlEngine directory, which mostly solves the problem - I just have to click a couple of warnings on startup to get going. Tolerable.
Except - another of my previous Adobe-related whinges about 'Lucky1234-AIVMFile1234567890' files building up in the temp folder on my boot drive (an SSD) has gone into fucking over-drive.
It's generating 26x 16Mb files EVERY. FUCKING. MINUTE. which as I'm sure you can imagine fairly quickly fills up the harddisk there. I've only just realised how bad the problem is when I couldn't save a file because.. well, no useful error ...but I assumed it was due to space being low somwhere, and indeed it was.
How can Adobe be this fucking useless? Both of these are on-going issues spanning years now.

- Only recently saw those rumours about Apple taking them over. I’m on the fence but you would imagine this sort of shit would stop at least.MrT
- I think Apple would be better off buying Affinity and really pushing it with a fuck ton of investment. They could afford Adobe, but it'd be costly.Nairn
- Having checked - buying Adobe would be at least 4x bigger a buy-out than any other Apple have made.Nairn
