Just after some advice here...or maybe not.

I was a member of a private sporting club for many years - 20+. As time and finances dictated, I changed membership category so that I was still a member but couldn't use most of the facilities on a regular basis. Still had to pay a fee.

My finances have taken a bit of a hit in recent times...so I was on a quarterly payment plan. Ended up falling a quarter behind...lonmg story short the club ended up striking me off as a member.

Now I didn't agree with it...but respected their right to protect themselves financially. I ended up appealing to the Board directly to see if the ruling could be overturned.

They responded with a firm no...saying after considering my payment history and "all the information gathered over the years" the actions stood.

When I read the "all the information gathered over the years" part I blew my top. Have never been in trouble for anything...ever. Have represented them many times. Never a problem. Only my payment history.

I wrote back demanding clarification as to what this meant. No answer.

But this is almost fucking slander if it's been discussed at a Board meeting...using information that I obviously have no clue about and which must be untrue.

Not sure if anyone can offer anything...probably just wanted to get off my chest. I'm livid.

    • Eh... I can understand how that 'over the years' statement would sting a bit and maybe even feel like they're just covering their ass for possibly...PonyBoy
    • ... overreacting to the lack of one payment. It makes me wonder though if I'd really want back in given the way they're treating you. Not sure I'd fight it.PonyBoy
    • You stopped paying for membership at a club and did so slowly over time. You also stopped using the facilities over time. You’re not a member.monospaced
    • However... if you're concerned you and your family's rep is under ridicule w/out reason (slander)... maybe share the letter w/an attorney for advice?PonyBoy
    • lol... you sound so fucking Republican, mono... I wouldn't expect you to be so heartless here. Dude's a member for 20+ years and misses 1 payment...PonyBoy
    • ... I'd give him a second chance.PonyBoy
    • Keep your head up and move forward, find an other club where you will actually attend and pay the membership fee.

    • As I said, I've been an ordinary payer for a while - quite a few years. Always pretty late. But I've always ended up paying.BusterBoy
    • No issue with them striking me off for the financial stuff. Well within their rights. It's the "all the information over the years" that pissed me off.BusterBoy
    • And I don't want to go back after this. But I want to protect my bloody reputation if they're using other "information" I don't know about.BusterBoy
    • I'm just ranting really...but I want a freaking answer from them.BusterBoy
    • always pretty late paying + lack of presence
= no reputation. but you insist. let it go.

    • It’s not one of Bridget’s slush fund clubs is it?MrT
    • sted...can you read? They have insinuated it was for reasons other than financial. BTW non playing member is a proper category. So presence is irrelevant.BusterBoy
    • lol you don't get it :) they don't give a damn about the money, because you are a cunt.
and i guess that's nothing new

    • Only a cunt here and to halfwits like you sted.BusterBoy
    • Perhaps go out for a walk, busterboy.Nairn
