Command+S then Command+W for years and years and years. Now Illustrator feels like it needs to tell me this:

    Why?

    • it's the save queue, it isn't new lol.
u get this window when the system still writes the file on the disk and you hit close.
      sted
    • haha, this has been driving me nuts too - I presume my behaviour's not changed afer 2 decades of Illy use, so the extra click required here is a novel additionNairn
    • Heh, same here, never saw this before.fyoucher1
    • It should just go away if you ignore it, but no. It needs to to confirm that you have seen the message that you must wait for 2 seconds. ffsProjectile
    • its a noo feachur, get over ithans_glib
    • I see this now too. Clearly it takes longer to save files now across all apps!monospaced
    • Clearly it's an additional, new behaviour.Nairn
    • @mono you rarely get this window with source files under 1g, or a busy hdd. and yeah something is up with the write-out, because it takes longer for small filessted
    • Where's my 'Don't show me this again' checkbox?!misterhow
    • Who the fuck is Dani?CALLES
    • ^ I'm just glad it wasn't my erotic_friend_fictio... filemisterhow
    • Adobe file bloat. The 2GB file which should really only be 200kb.fyoucher1
    • @sted, it happens to me with files fall smaller than 1GB, and i have a fast machinemonospaced
    • Most of the files I use are titchy - I just received this helpful notice on a file weighing around 140kb that I was saving and quitting.Nairn
    • It can take longer with the newer background save feature, so you'll see this dialog more if you quit a lot and save honking complex or big files.evilpeacock
    • Preferences > File Handling & Clipboard > Uncheck "Save in Background" boxrefunktion
    • I use InDesign primarily, and edit linked files from AI, PS and ID regularly. This box has made things quite frustrating, and not just on big files.monospaced
    • Doesn’t this only happen when you’re quitting at the same time? That’s the only time it pops of for meGnash
    • In the old days you couldn’t quit until it was done savingGnash
    • Nope, on file close, Gnash.Nairn
    • Odd, hadn’t noticedGnash
