This is getting way too complicated trying to figure out what Putin theoretically wants and trying to do the opposite. Just vote for who you want to win. --yuekit
Yuekit...Putin wants to sow discord in the West. He wants to weaken democracies that stand in the way of Russia when it does stuff like invade Ukraine. He wants to destroy NATO.
Thus, Trump. Thus, Brexit.
He favors Sanders against Trump because Sanders will get destroyed by Trump in the general election, because of the USA's idiocy about the 'dangers of socialism'. He will push and push to help all his various useful tools, like Tulsi and Stein, until he turns on them to ensure a Trump win. At the end, he has his guy in the White House who is too stupid to realize what's going on, and Americans are at each other's throats.
This is what happened in 2016. Russian bots amplified all this Dem against Dem stuff so that tens of thousands of Americans voted for Stein and millions stayed home.
Right now, Trump Jr and Eric and various other outlets are pushing and pushing this narrative about how the Democratic party is against Bernie, and that the system is rigged. I actually think the US needs a complete overhaul...I favor Warren...and I think the Democratic party is clearly against Bernie, with the biggest reason being that Bernie will lose against Trump. Forget the polling. Just think about what the polling will look like after months and months of ads showing Bernie's old interviews and parties in Russia.
I will vote Blue in the general no matter what. Trump is Mussolini, and the lawless GOP is destroying this country. The lawless GOP has Putin on their side, helping us destroy ourselves.

- allthething, the world is a complicated place, there are lots of agendas on all sides.yuekit
- You're telling me you know for a fact that Sanders will lose even though he's currently leading him in 90% of the polls and Trump has never cracked 50%?yuekit
- American elections are always extremely close, if it's like last time it will come down to motivating a few hundred thousand people in a few Midwestern states.yuekit
- Yes Sanders saying nice things about socialist governments in the 80s could hurt him. But you have to balance that against the fact that people are extremelyyuekit
- fed up with mainstream politicians and willing to filter out a lot of noise (as they did with Trump). Many people are also struggling in spite of the "goodyuekit

- Trump and the other Dem candidates don't.yuekit
- As far as Russia goes, yes they will try to exploit divisions in American society and boost candidates on the fringes. Doesn't mean they are omniscient oryuekit

- I think a more realist way of looking at it is that Russia is one factor among many. It does have some influence, but its power has also been exaggerated byyuekit
