I'm struggling w/updating my site...
Is it worth taking a website to a more 'experience' level type of site like back in the old days of Flash? It's possible to do some pretty cool shit and I can even translate a lot of it to mobile...
... but is it worth it?
- I think it depends. If you can use cool visual elements that aid in browsing the work and telling your story, can be good.mg33
- If it's just trendy interactions and BS that will annoy people and doesn't enhance anything, not good.mg33
- I obsessively catalog agency inspiration and work and there's a big trend right now towards techniques that I feel confident are just annoying, and will die offmg33
- in about six months.mg33
- There was a time when the energy on the web 'demanded' something new nearly every six months (and this was a good thing)...PonyBoy
- ... however I don't feel like that energy exists anymore. We're more worried about shit working on browsers from 2001 than we are at being inventive. :(PonyBoy
